THERAPY VS. FAITH JOURNAL PROMPTS

Guide yourself toward self-awareness, acceptance, and a more balanced understanding of both faith and healing.

  • Where does my faith bring me comfort, and where do I still struggle?
Reflect on the aspects of your faith that bring peace and the areas where you feel disconnected or burdened. How can you hold space for both without guilt?

  • What emotions or struggles have I been dismissing as a 'lack of faith' instead of acknowledging them as a human experience?
Explore any feelings of sadness, anxiety, or overwhelm that you may have mistaken for spiritual weakness. How would you approach these struggles with more compassion?

  • How can I allow therapy (or emotional support) to complement my faith rather than feel like a replacement for it?
Consider ways in which seeking help—whether through therapy, self-reflection, or trusted conversations—can work alongside your faith rather than against it.

  • What is a piece of advice I would give to a loved one struggling with their mental health? How can I extend that same kindness to myself?
Often, we are gentler with others than we are with ourselves. Write down words of comfort and understanding you would offer someone else and reflect on why you deserve that same care.

  • In what ways has Allah’s mercy shown up in my struggles, even when I felt lost?
Look back on difficult moments in your life—where did you find unexpected ease, support, or resilience? How does recognizing this help you accept that struggle does not mean abandonment?
